Terms of service
Last updated October 5, 2026
These terms cover SitePitstop’s free website checks and the website fixes you pay us for. “We” means SitePitstop, a business based in Austin, Texas. “You” means the person or business using our services. By asking for a check or a fix, you agree to these terms.
Free website checks
A check loads up to 20 public pages of a website, the way a visitor’s phone would, and looks for problems customers notice. Checks are run by automated tools. They only read public pages: they never log in, never submit forms, and follow the site’s robots.txt. A check is information, not a guarantee that a site is free of problems, and some results may be wrong. If you think something in your report is wrong, tell us and we’ll look at it.
We may check publicly available business websites and contact the business about what we find. Any site owner can stop this at any time: reply “stop” to our email, write to [email protected], or block “SitePitstopBot” in robots.txt. Once a site or address is on our do-not-contact list, it stays there.
Quotes and payment
When you ask us to fix something, we email you a fixed price for the work described. The price is agreed before we start and we won’t charge more for that work. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
When you pay, Stripe saves your card so that future fixes can be paid without entering it again. We only charge it for work you have approved in writing (by email is fine), and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
Access to your website
To make a fix we need access to your site. You choose how: for example a WordPress application password, an invitation to your website builder account, or a hosting login. You confirm that you’re allowed to give us that access. We use it only for the work you’ve approved, keep it encrypted, and record each time it’s used. When the work is done you can remove our access, and we recommend you do.
Doing the work
We change only what’s needed for the fix you approved. Before changing your live site we keep a copy we can restore from. We use automated tools as well as our own work to check and fix sites. If a fix causes a new problem, we undo it or put it right at no charge.
Some problems can’t be fixed from a website alone (for example, a hosting account that has been suspended). If we can’t do what we quoted, we’ll tell you and refund you as described in our refund policy.
Guarantee
If a problem we fixed comes back within 30 days, we fix it again at no charge. This doesn’t cover changes made to the site by someone else after our fix, or problems caused by your hosting company.
Your website and content
Your website and its content stay yours. You’re responsible for what’s on your site and for keeping your own backups. We’re not responsible for problems caused by your hosting provider, website builder, plugins or other services we don’t control.
Limits on our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the work involved in the 12 months before the claim. We’re not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost business.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; changes don’t affect work you’ve already paid for. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Questions: [email protected].
