SitePitstopBot
SitePitstopBot is the website checker run by SitePitstop, a small business that looks after local business websites. It loads up to 20 public pages of a site, the way a visitor’s phone would, and looks for problems customers would notice: pages that don’t fit on a phone, broken call and email links, contact forms that can’t deliver, and expired security certificates.
It only reads public pages: it never submits forms, never tries to log in, sends at most two requests at a time, and always follows robots.txt. It identifies itself as SitePitstopBot/0.1 (+https://sitepitstop.com/bot); when it loads a page the way a phone would, that name is added to a phone browser’s usual identification.
