Privacy policy

Last updated October 5, 2026

This policy explains what SitePitstop collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions or requests: [email protected].

What we collect

  • Public website information. When we check a website we save what a visitor would see: page addresses, page text, screenshots, and the results of our checks.
  • Public business contact details. Business names, phone numbers, email addresses and contact forms published on a business’s own website or its public listings, such as Google Maps.
  • What you give us. Your email and website when you ask for a free check; your name, email, phone and the problems you pick when you ask for a fix; and the access details you send so we can do the work. We keep what’s typed into our forms even when we can’t accept it (for example, a mistyped address), so we can help and stop abuse.
  • Payments. Stripe processes payments. We receive the amount, a payment reference and a customer reference, never your full card number.
  • Basic technical data. We keep a one-way scrambled version of your IP address for 90 days to stop abuse of our forms. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

To run checks and show you reports, to contact a business about problems on its website, to reply to requests, to quote, do and verify fixes, to take payment, and to keep our services secure.

Access details you send us

Passwords and logins are encrypted as soon as they reach us. They can only be opened by the part of our system that does the work, each opening is recorded, and they’re used only for work you’ve approved. You can remove our access at any time, and we recommend you do once the work is done.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run SitePitstop: our hosting and storage providers (Hetzner and Cloudflare), our email provider (Google), and Stripe for payments. We don’t sell your information or share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Older screenshots are deleted automatically, except those shown in a report or a record of work we did. Backups are kept for 30 days. Access details are kept until you ask us to delete them or we no longer need them for work you’ve approved. Payment records are kept as long as the law requires.

Your choices

You can ask us to stop contacting you or checking your site, and to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Email [email protected]. A stop request is permanent: we keep only the address or website on our do-not-contact list, so we never contact it again.

Children

Our services are for businesses and aren’t meant for children under 13.
